Scottish Page ~  we love living here and you are very welcome to share it with us!
By the way - this is not a haggis!  It is a Scottish "Cloutie" Dumpling, made to Maggie's (Andy's mother) family recipe, handed on in the best family tradition.  You would have to taste it to believe it!

In addition to all sorts of everything with sujo.com, my latest career challenge is as Marketing Assistant with BDF Ltd, Girvan (manufacturers of medical textiles).  Based in the busy Sales Office, my work includes creating new sales literature and working with the database systems.

When I'm needed, I also teach some evening classes for Ayr College at their Girvan base - the Carrick Buildings.  Making use of some of the knowledge I've gathered during the last few years, I find that teaching (especially with newcomers to IT) is tremendously rewarding and a whole load of fun!  I'd like to do a lot more, so if you live locally, and are looking to acquire some new skills or extend your present abilities, get in touch with them and maybe I'll meet you there!

My previous Job was as a Secretary/Tour Guide at Culzean Castle, Maybole Ayrshire, Scotland
    • Secretarial support in a busy general office with special responsibility for administration connected to weddings and functions
    • Educational tours when required
    • General dogsbody and computer whiz kid!

I started working seasonally at Culzean as a student and enjoyed every minute.  But the time came to move on to a "real" job, a more challenging career.

    Personal background

  • Home town - Chester, England - another lovely place, but I have chosen to live in Scotland since 1981 (and sincerely hope that I never have to leave!)
  • I came to visit the area and fell in love with the Ailsa Craig, deciding that I wanted to live here in Girvan, where I could keep an eye on it! When I return from holidays, it's always such a relief to find that it's still there!
  • I have been a mature student, studying at Ayr College and the University of Paisley, graduating BA in Business Administration in 1996, and Msc in IT (1999)
  • The pages written about Culzean in this site about were used to fullfil an academic requirement of the module "Networking Principles & Strategy" which formed part of the PGD/MSc course in IT at the University of Paisley. (Feb 1997 Cohort).
